Vx805 Terminal (on Mercury Pay)



The Vx805 is a state of the art terminal manufactured by Verifone and integrated to Vantiv's Integrated Payments platform (Mercury Pay) via DataCap's NETePay, a developer friendly interface that makes it easy to support new payment devices with existing software integrations. The Vx805 PIN Pad supports EMV, MSR, PIN and NFC contactless transactions including Apple Pay.

How Apple Pay works for point of sale transactions


Apple Pay allows customers to quickly make purchases using Touch ID technology on newer Apple devices. Customers can add their credit or debit card information to their Apple device which is then tokenized by a tokenization service to encrypt the card number. The tokenization service assigns a device-specific identifier called a DPAN that can only be decrypted by the card issuing bank. (A PAN is a primary account number, the number that appears on the front of your credit or debit card).


Vantiv and the processing banks then use this DPAN in place of the real card number in order to securely handle transactions. Vantiv takes this integration one step further, optionally allowing Vantiv's OmniToken to reference a DPAN, treating the DPAN like card on file, just as it would normally do with a PAN stored in Vantiv's secure vault.
