Large, sophisticated merchants need the capacity to securely and reliably support high volumes of payment transactions while using industry standard interfaces for payment card transactions. They also need to support a variety of payment types, industry specific payment extensions and advanced features including reporting and analysis.
Vantiv provides developers with the option to directly integrate with Vantiv’s payment systems using industry standard message formats (ISO 8583) as well as proprietary APIs and web-services interfaces for applications requiring functionality not exposed through Vantiv’s published APIs.
Direct integrations are most often used by enterprises, gateway providers, or major retailers with sophisticated, high-volume payment processing requirements.
Developers may consider an ISO integration when:
- A merchant has specific, high-volume transaction requirements
- Scalability and reliability are particular concerns along with the ability to customize applications to meet specific needs
- The merchant prefers to use an industry standard integration method such as ISO 8583
- The merchant and developer are prepared to spend time working collaboratively with Vantiv integration experts to integrate and certify applications in order to realize the benefits of a direct integration
How it works
By working with a Vantiv solution consultant as a part of a standard engagement process, developers can build, test and certify their applications using test procedures tailored to an individual merchant’s integration requirements.
Direct integrations can be employed for any type of payment processing requirement including large eCommerce websites (card not present), retail stores (card present) as well as a variety of specialized industry payment methods and emerging payment types including eChecks, ACH transfers, mobile payments and alternative payment methods.
To ensure consistency and high quality of delivery, direct integration activities are normally executed according to a statement of work developed by Vantiv in consultation with the merchant and the developer.
