Future Leaders Development Program Spotlight: Amber Bielunski

Vantiv's Future Leaders Development program (FLDP) is for people who join Vantiv through our internship program or immediately following college or university. It's a highly-competitive, two-year program along three tracks: finance; technology; and risk, security & compliance.

 

I caught up with FLDP member Amber Bielunski to ask her how she found Vantiv and what she loves about the program.

Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?

I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. Actually, the house I grew up in is about 10 minutes from our Tinley Park office. I attended the University of Dayton in Ohio, where I majored in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration. Currently, I'm in my second year in the Risk, Security and Compliance FLDP track. I am known around the office as “Sunshine” most likely because of my high energy that is due to being naturally caffeinated. I have also been known to bake sweet treats for those that sit around me or those who have learned that my desk usually has snacks.

 

Why did you select Vantiv when searching for a full-time role?

I wanted a company whose values aligned with mine, that would allow me to have an opportunity to make an impact within the organization. Starting from the recruiting process, every person that I met was genuine and showed an interest in me. After my interviews I remember thinking “this is such a good fit and everything I’m looking for– I sure hope they are thinking the same about me!”  There hasn’t been a day that went by that I don’t see the values on display at Vantiv, which just reaffirms that I made a great choice moving here for this program.

 

What do you love most about the Future Leaders Development Program – Risk, Security & Compliance?

It’s difficult to pick just one aspect of the program that I like the love most. I think the two things that I love the most about the program are the people involved and the constant opportunity to push myself to learn and be better. The people involved in the program the managers, program managers, mentors, executive sponsors, and the other FLDPs. There is this huge network of people who care about you and want to see you succeed and they become so influential in your life and that is something that is truly amazing. Many of them are not only my coworkers but also my friends. I also love having the constant opportunity to push myself to learn and be better. Every single day I am pushed and challenged to be better than I was yesterday and to learn something new-something that is truly a gift. I have been able to grow so much professionally and personally in the last year. I credit a lot of that to the program and everyone involved and I am so thankful to be a part of this program.

 

What are your career goals?

Eventually I would like to be a people leader within the organization. In the year and half I have been here, I’ve had the most wonderful leaders at Vantiv who have positively influenced me. I hope to one day be that leader to someone. I’ve really enjoyed the variety of careers that the program has exposed me to and I am looking forward to the next few months in the program.
